Job Summary


The Integration Specialist is responsible for the technical integration, validation, and deployment of complex, multi-disciplinary simulation platforms. This role ensures seamless knowledge in hardware, software, image generators, synthetic terrain, system networks, audiovisual, cockpit instruments, motion, and control subsystems within high-fidelity avionics training and operational simulation environments.
The Integration Specialist serves as a technical lead during system build, integration, and test phases, working closely with systems engineering, software/hardware developers, manufacturing, test team, configuration manager, and program management teams to deliver mission-ready simulation solutions that meet customer specifications, performance requirements, and quality standards.
The Integration Specialist will also be responsible for monitoring the development and progress of the program and identifying any technical and schedule risks.
 

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Lead integration of hardware and software subsystems into complete simulation platforms.
  • Interpret and implement system architecture diagrams, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and engineering drawings.
  • Configure servers, workstations, networking infrastructure, and simulation software environments.
  • Integrate audiovisual systems, projection systems, motion platforms, control systems, and peripheral devices.
  • Perform system-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Develop integration plans, procedures, and verification test documentation.
  • Execute and support all acceptance testing and customer demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering to validate requirements traceability and system performance.
  • Support cybersecurity compliance and secure network configurations where required.
  • Provide technical oversight during on-site installation and field deployment.
  • Mentor junior integration specialists and technicians.
  • Contribute technical input for proposals, risk assessments, and project planning.
  • Support software Configuration Management (CM) to track, control, and manage changes to software releases throughout the program lifecycle.

Qualifications
 Minimum Requirements     

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer, Systems, or related technical field).
  • 10+ years of real-time simulation systems experience in development, integration, troubleshooting, testing, and debugging of complex technical simulation environments.
  • Strong knowledge in avionics systems and aircraft operations.
  • Strong knowledge in programming (C++, C#, Python, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge in development tools (Visual Studio).
  • Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, managed switches, firewalls).
  • Strong knowledge in simulation networking environments (DIS and HLA).
  • Experience with Windows/Linux environments and virtualization platforms.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, system architecture diagrams, and interface documentation.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting expertise across hardware and software domains.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
  • Ability to travel as required for installation and customer support.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating immersive technologies (VR/AR/MR).
  • Familiarity with game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine) in simulation applications.
  • CompTIA Security+, Network+, or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience in high-reliability or mission-critical environments.
